Recently Matt Palmer, our Operations Manager, gave a talk in Sydney at the recent Online Retailer conference. A brief overview of this talk:
In this talk, I will share our experience running and scaling some large-scale Magento websites, and give you a set of questions that you can use to ensure that your site is able to handle whatever the Internet throws at it, whether it be a huge surge in popularity or a data-centre-destroying disaster.
A copy of the slides including all the questions raised in the talk is available for download
Anchor will be presenting this topic again tonight at the Magento Meetup Sydney, at the King Street Brewhouse, 22 The Promenade, Darling Harbour.
In addition to the content in this talk, we will also be covering aspects of scaling and optimising Magento including:
- Differences between using one or many servers to run Magento
- Database scaling options
- Comparison of nginx and apache
- Discussion on MySQL and Percona
So why not come on down? Have a beer on us and say “Hi” to the Anchor staff!
