The Anchor web hosting reseller program allows you to provide all of the services offered under our retail hosting service to your clients as a your own service.
How the reseller program works
Joining the Anchor web hosting reseller program
To become an Anchor web hosting reseller you simply need to complete the online form. Once the application is received our systems will be updated to list you as a reseller.
A hosting account will be configured on our servers to host your website.
Setting up new clients
Each time you need to setup additional hosting accounts a request can be placed either via the online order forms (located on our website and in your control panel), email or telephone.
In each case you simply supply us with the account specific configuration information, the order will be checked and configured.
Control panel systems
Anchor has constructed a customised control panel system that allows you to make common configuration changes in real time via a web based interface. This includes:
- Adding and managing email accounts
- Changing account passwords
- Web based interfaces for databases
- Enabling FTP and SSH access
Every account is provided with an independent control panel. All of your client accounts will be linked to your control panel so that you can make changes via a single login.
Each account is configured on our system independently for your security. This means that a separate username and password is setup for client account. If a client requires access to their own account you can provide it to them without giving away access to your own account or that of your other clients.
Branded hosting
Reseller hosting services are presented to your clients under your company name, including:
- Name servers: ns1.your-domain.com.au & ns2.your-domain.com.au
- 2 IP addresses
- Control panel: branded with your company logo
- Mail servers: mail.your-client-domain.com.au
- FTP servers: ftp.your-client-domain.com.au
Dealing with client support
As a reseller you are responsible for supporting your customers, but you're not alone in this task. Extensive support libraries are published and continually expanded on the Anchor website to answer as many questions as possible.
If you can't find an answer here our friendly support staff are only a phone call (toll free) or email away.
Anchor uses an integrated email request tracking system to ensure that enquiries are dealt with as quickly as possible (within the hour usually) and no question is left unanswered.
We have over 4 years of experience supporting hosting services and there's not many problems we've not yet encountered (and solved). All support staff have access to detailed logging information to assist in troubleshooting.
Promoting your service
As an Anchor web hosting reseller you are free to make use of any and all material that you find published on the Anchor website for the purposes of marketing and support (just don't forget to replace any references to Anchor).
Billing
As a web hosting reseller you will receive a single combined hosting invoice for hosting services each month. This invoice will cover all hosting services provided during that month. Each hosting account can be invoiced on a monthly or annual basis depending on your preference. If annual billing is nominated the monthly invoice will contain an annual charge for any hosting services which are provisioned in that month.
There is no cost difference for resellers who choose to pay for accounts on a monthly or annual basis.
Payment is accepted in all forms (Cheque, Money order, Electronic Funds Transfer or Credit card).
How the Anchor - Reseller - Client relationship works
We recognise that the relationship between Anchor, yourself and your clients is often a delicate one and aware of all the factors that must be taken into consideration to preserve these relationships.
Many of our hosting partners present themselves to their clients as a hosting company and would prefer that they don't know Anchor exists. This is perfectly acceptable and we have systems in place to ensure that this works.
Your clients will never receive any direct correspondence from Anchor in relation to hosting services.
We do not require or collect contact information for your clients in relation to hosting services. From Anchor's perspective, you, the reseller are our client. You are the only person that will be authorised to discuss any accounts you hold with us.

All Anchor web hosting resellers receive a free hosting account for their own site. This account is a vital part of the reseller system and ensures you have access to a testing environment that is the same as that which will be used by your client sites.
Talented support
We don't employ call centre monkeys to provide support, and we don't use telephone queuing systems. All calls are answered by a real person that can actually answer your questions, and in the rare case that they can't you will be put through to one of our systems administrators that can.
Work referrals
Anchor receives enquiries from time to time in relation to website development. We are strictly a hosting provider and do not get involved in website development, all such enquiries are farmed out to members of our partner program.

Domain name registrar
As an Australian domain name registrar we can register new domains and literally setup new accounts instantly (not to mention some incredibly cheap prices on domains).

Anchor's entire infrastructure is operated from our data centre in the Sydney CBD. Our network connections go directly into the Australian Internet backbone to ensure all services are lightning fast.

We're so confident in our ability to keep our systems working that we guarantee all services will be operational 99.8% of the time. In fact, our track record over the past 4 years shows an uptime average above 99.9%.
The uptime guarantee is enforced by the Service Level Agreement

- Multiple redundant links to the Internet via diverse physical cables
- UPS and Diesel generator power protection on all equipment
- On site inventory of spares for all servers
- 24 x 7 Monitoring of all services with SMS notifications to multiple technicians
- Multi level backup systems (all servers use mirrored HDDs, online and offsite backup systems
A scalable solution
If you or your clients ever exceed the bounds of a shared hosting service as your website grows in popularity a smooth upgrade path is available. Clients can be migrated by Anchor Systems to any of our dedicated server solutions.
Pitch support
Whilst Anchor is usually the silent partner in providing your clients with hosting services we can sometimes help you land that large client. On request, Anchor can support you in pitching for work as a the preferred hosting provider, either in the role of your supplier or to deal direct. If your have a clients site with more complex hosting requirements we can often solve them with a managed server.
As a part of this process, (if you are located in Sydney) we can arrange a tour of the physical data centre for you and your client.

How much does it cost
All web and email hosting plans are based on the retail product offered by Anchor. For more detailed information on the account specifications please see the hosting section of the site.
Substantial volume based discounts are provided starting at 20% and increasing as your client base grows.
- 1 - 10 accounts: 20% discount
- 11 - 20 accounts: 25% discount
- 21+ accounts: 30% discount
Discounts are applied on all accounts as soon as you reach the threshold for each pricing bracket.
