Step 1: Choose your domain name

Step 2: Eligibility criterion. For .au domain names lots of rules and regulations apply in regard to who can register each different type (.com.au, .net.au, .id.au, .asn.au, .org.au) of domain name. In this step you need to supply us with certain information to ensure you meet the .au domain name policy requirements for eligibility. For .com.au and .net.au domains it means you need to demonstrate that you are an Australian operating business. For .org.au you need to show that you are a non profit organisation or registered charity. For .id.au and .asn.au you just need to be Australian.

Steps 3-6: Collect contact details for the domain owner and roles such as registrant, technical and billing. You can set all of these to be the same.

Step 7: Payment details for your domain name. If you supply credit card details your domain name will be registered almost immediately. If you do not provided credit card details we will issue and invoice, your domain registration request will only be processed once payment is received.

Once we receive your order we review the information that has been supplied to ensure it is in compliance with the .au policy. We validate information such as phone numbers and business/company names and registration numbers.

We then push the order through to the registry. Domains become visible within in minutes of approval.

We then push the order through to the registry. gTLD domains typically take around 12-24hours to be visible from the time of ordering.
